A wide range of trim levels make up the lineup of the Subaru Forester. They include Base, Premium, Sport, Wilderness, Limited, and Touring, and you'll be able to select the right one for your lifestyle around Tinton Falls, Middletown Township, and Long Branch, New Jersey. To learn more about what they offer, World Subaru goes over all the features that you can find in each trim.
Every trim comes with a 2.5L DOHC engine, yet the different trims provide diverse towing capacities and gas mileage. To tow the maximum that the Forester can handle, go with the Wilderness trim that hauls up to 3,000 pounds. For all the other trims, you'll be able to tow a maximum of 1,500 pounds.
Except for the Wilderness trim, you can achieve an EPA-estimated 26 city/33 highway MPG. The Wilderness trim reaches an EPA-estimated 25 city/28 highway MPG.1
If you're planning to drive in more rural, less tenable grounds, you may prefer the Wilderness trim. It supplies you with a 9.2-inch ground clearance. The other trims give you an 8.7-inch ground clearance.
The interior in your Subaru Forester can be as unique as you are with four different types of upholstery. Both the Base and Premium trims provide cloth upholstery, while the Sport livens up your cabin with sport cloth accented with orange stitching.
Get dirty and feel good about entering the Wilderness trim that’s furnished with Star-Tex® water-repellent material. Or prioritize deluxe style with leather-trimmed upholstery, available in the Limited and Touring trims.
Keep your cabin cool or warm with an automatic climate control system that appears in the Base through Sport trims. For less debating about the temperature in the front seat, opt for the dual-zone automatic climate control system in the Wilderness through Touring trims.
Two different Multimedia screens can grace your Subaru Forester dashboard. The Base and Premium trims include the SUBARU STARLINK® 6.5-inch screen—Multimedia and Multimedia Plus respectively.
If you prefer a larger screen, the SUBARU STARLINK® 8-inch screen will reside in the middle of your dashboard. The Sport can be equipped with Multimedia Plus selection and comes standard in the Wilderness and Touring trims. Drivers who need extra navigation functions will go for the Multimedia Navigation system, available in the Wilderness and Limited trims and standard in the Touring trim.
Depending on your preferences, you may be satisfied with four speakers in the Base trim. Most trims use six speakers while the upgraded 9-speaker Harman Kardon® premium audio system can be chosen for any trim between Sport and Limited and comes standard with Wilderness.
Other tech options include those in the driver-assistance arena. Blind-Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert appear in the Sport through Touring trims and can be added to the Premium trim.
If you need an alert that you may be close to hitting an obstacle or another car, Reverse Automatic Braking can step in. It’s available for Sport and Limited trims while it’s standard in the Wilderness and Touring trims.
