Can a stray dog with a shaky past find love? Here at the Monmouth County SPCA, we believe every pet deserves a second chance at a good life - and we pride ourselves on that. Paulina came to the shelter as a lost pet along with another dog. When our Animal Control team found her, she was covered in new and old scars - specifically on her face, was underweight, scared, and confused. Paulina had certainly been through a lot, but her hopeful eyes and wagging tail told us she was longing for companionship and comfort. After her medical examination, we were certain that Paulina had been used as a bait dog - we also found that she was heartworm positive, something that dogs are often euthanized for due to lack of resources. Luckily here at the MCSPCA, we have the support and medical expertise necessary to treat heartworm-positive dogs and at no cost to potential adopters. Paulina waited patiently each day as people passed by her room, but her physical appearance made families hesitant - it was understandable knowing the stigma that follows pitbull-type dogs around, but we knew she was so much more. Paulina was a staff and volunteer favorite who always gave her undivided attention and unconditional love to her friends, she had such a way to make you feel special! Days, weeks, months, and then a year passed and still no takers - 474 days to be exact. Then, something amazing happened - while doing an adoption outreach at Subaru through the ASPCA Subaru Loves Pets Grant, Paulina's favorite volunteer was her handler at the event and saw how wonderful she was with everyone she met. That amazing volunteer decided that SHE would be the one to take this girl home, and the rest is history! Paulina is now living a loved life where is spoiled and cherished, just like every dog should be. We attribute her adoption to the ASPCA Subaru Loves Pets Grant, for it was that day that her new family fell in love.

On Friday, July 14th, representatives from World Subaru delivered warmth and hope to patients facing a cancer diagnosis at the K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital in Neptune, NJ as a part of the national Subaru Loves to Care® initiative supporting those impacted by blood cancer. The Children’s Hospital staff joined in the photo opportunity, led by staff members Rebecca Bradley and Alexis Fernicola, as well as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Campaign Manager, Samantha Hymowitz. The treatment and rehabilitation process for cancer patients can often be long and arduous, leaving patients feeling cold, confined, and in a weakened state. The blankets provided by World Subaru will help to provide support, both physically and emotionally, to the pediatric patients at the K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital. The staff expressed their sincere appreciation for World Subaru who keep their patients' health and well-being in their thoughts when deciding where to bring their generous donations and support their local community.

I met David in June ‘23 when I started looking @ leasing my 1st Subaru. His calm, friendly and professional demeanor along with his ability to clearly answer every question I had made working with him a pleasure. I was impressed with how knowledgeable he is about all aspects of the various models. He listens and offers options and help wherever possible without using high pressure tactics. On the same day (now in July) I went to return my Ford and pick up my new Crosstrek Ltd., I got a flat on busy Shrewsbury Avenue in sweltering heat. I called David to tell him what happened and he generously offered his help and went out of his way and came in his own car to help me out. First attempting to fix the flat but the tire was too damaged so he needed to change the tire; all done calmly and graciously. It has been a wonderful, warm welcome to the Subaru family thanks to David; a young honest and decent family man that anyone would be happy to work with, just as I was.

Clean Ocean Action has successfully challenged and reduced ocean pollution in New Jersey for nearly 40 years. They work year round in numerous ways such as beach sweeps, where they removed over 500,000 litter pieces from 69 beaches in 2021. In honor of Earth Day and all of their accomplishments, they hosted a "Shore Shindig" with 250 ocean advocates. World Subaru was happy to contribute to this campaign to provide essential funding for COA to continue defending the ocean, and ensure it is safe and healthy for locals and marine life who call it home! #LovesTheEarth22

We are proud to partner with our good friends at Lunch Break and donate this Subaru Outback to CL! People come to Lunch Break from a variety of backgrounds seeking assistance in getting their lives back on track. With the help of a life skills coach, they are given the tools to succeed but there is most often a challenge in a need for reliable transportation and that’s where we were proud to assist. CL will now be able to drive her son to school and continue with the plans of opening her own cleaning business…We wish her safe travels always!

Skippi is the type of dog that had all of the odds stacked against her, and all at no fault of her own. Heartworm positive, deformed, pregnant and homeless - her ice blue eyes told a story of a past we'd never know. Upon her first medical exam, we learned that Skippi had suffered a dislocated shoulder which caused her leg to atrophy and grow upwards into her body. Skippi learned to live as a tripod, but sadly, physical deformities are undesirable to adopters. More often than not, dogs like Skippi are euthanized simply due to lack of resources and a limited pool of potential adopters; her deformity plus being heartworm positive and pregnant left Skippi with slim chances to make it out of the shelter she was at in South Carolina. When our transport team at the MCSPCA saw Skippi on the "high risk" list, we knew we needed to save her. We arranged her arrival to New Jersey just in time as she gave birth to 7 healthy, plump puppies just a week later. Skippi and her new family spent some time in foster until they were big enough for adoption - and anyone could imagine how quickly they found homes! Skippi waited patiently, day after day while she was being treated for heartworm for someone to finally see her and choose to take her home. While doing an outreach at Subaru through the ASPCA Subaru Loves Pets Grant, a lovely family saw Skippi's photo in our "Adoptables" book and drove back to the shelter to meet her - it was love at first sight! Skippi is now living a spoiled life and is truly living the dream of every underdog, shelter dog!

Through adopt a classroom and Subaru loves learning we were partnered with Long Branch Middle School. Our staff and customers had the opportunity to participate in our school supply drive to donate pens, markers, binders, paper, tissues, etc that these students might not have access to. Thank you to everyone who contributed and the best of luck to the staff and students for the new school year.

Who would have thought that World Subaru could bring two people together forever? This past June, we got to witness two of our very own promise to spend the rest of their lives together… and it all started right here at World. Glen joined the team in 2005 and met Nicole when she joined our team in 2015. Coworkers then evolved into a friendship, friendship to dating, and dating to marriage. As their retailer family we could not have been happier to be a part of their special day!
